Vale is a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism located in
the Northeast quadrant of Vermont. We are devoted to bringing the
Middle Ages to life, both for the enjoyment of those of us who enjoy
historical re-creation and role-play, and for the children in the many
elementary schools where we do demonstrations of the skills practiced
throughout the medieval period. We invite any and all with an interest
in medieval history to join us in our play and in our dream.
We have polled and shouted and screamed, Lord Edward Talbot has stepped down as Seneschal after four years. Our New Seneschal is Lady Laura Flintbrook (Laura Hamilton) who was seen entering the pavillion bare-back on a Fell Pony! We once again have a herald to help us emblazon ourselves in glory - Roland le Taillefer (Robert Jason Boss). Other offices have been filled by Lord Edward Talbot, Dominvs Tiberivs Ivlivs Rvfvs, Lady Bess Brechin.
We are happy to announce that as of adding some crown lands to our shire we are gaining some populace who are in training for officer positions (soon to be introduced).
Yule this year is hosted by Shire of Panther Vale and will be on January 13th, 2018 at the Capitol City Grange in Montpelier VT. There will be a band and dance instructor, Duchess Thyra Eiriksdottir. We will be visiting, eating, dancing, sharing from 2:00 to 10:00 pm. There will be Gold Key and visitors are expected to wear finery. This will be a public event and donations are welcome.

and the Shire of Panther Vale.
The Shire of Panther Vale will be holding a number of demonstrations and displays of the activities of the Society for Creative Anachronism through out the Shire during the year.
Youth Combat, Heavy List Fighting, Arts and Sciences, Bardic Arts, Thrown Weapons, and Archery will all be included among the activities that will be on display.
Usually there will be an opportunity for children in attendance to try on some chain mail, to play medieval games, and to make a small blunt arrow.
Adults will be able to enjoy talking with knowledgeable artisans about such medieval crafts as cloisonné, naalbinding, illumination, brewing, cooking, silk painting, embroidery and other needle arts, as well as about the mission and purposes of the Society.
Please check the "Local Events" on the right to see what demonstrations are scheduled and check back to see the "Local Events" scheduled in the future. Please come and join us!
