March 6, 2021
The Studium Generale will be hosting the Northern Region Arts and Science Championship. This year, expect a little more of a challenge. If you want to be the champ, you must show your art, share your art, and learn more art.
Part 1: Show Your Art
Like any traditional A&S competition, please bring something you are proud of to display. Documentation is required. If you are concerned about documentation, please use this form as a starting point. I ask that you do not have more than 10 pages so that judges may have time to get through everyone’s entries. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. The grading rubric will be available as we get closer to the event. Please submit by (one week before the event). You may submit a link to a website if it contains all the relevant information in one place.
Part 2: Share Your Art
Part of being an art champion is sharing your passion for art with the people around you. To complete this part of the challenge, you have a few options.
- You may teach a class live at the Studium Generale.
- You may pre-record yourself teaching a class.
- You may create 8 pieces of largesse for the Crown.
Part 3: Learn More Art
Sometimes we get comfortable in the things we are good at and stop taking risks. Other times, we are scared to try something for fear that we might not be good at it. For the last part of the challenge, I ask you to try something different, a new type of making art. Go to a class on the day of the Studium pertaining to something you know absolutely nothing about. Forms will be sent to your email on the day of the event.
Once again, you must complete all three parts of the challenge in order to be the Northern Region Arts and Science Champion. You must also reside in the Northern region of the East Kingdom in order to be Champion.
Please declare your interest in participating by February 12th at midnight by filling out this form. Winners will be announced the next day on Sunday. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!
