Young archers with target at Panteria 2012The Shire of Panther Vale is pleased to invite all good gentles to join us for a day filled with fun and revelry. Along with archery offerings such as royal rounds, a 3-d woods course, a roving range and our “How Far is Far?” competition, the event will also be the host to Panther Vale’s Armored, Rapier, Thrown Weapons and Archery Championships.

You do not have to reside in Panther Vale to compete in the Panther Vale championships! The championships are open to those who wish to compete. Winners of the championships are expected to attend next year’s Lost Tip to pass along the honor to the future champions.

The event site is accessible per the East Kingdom Accessibility Porter’s Checklist.

Registration Fees

  • Adult members: $10
  • Adult non-members: $15
  • Youth (6-17): $5
  • Children (5 & under): Free
  • Family max: $30

You are welcome to camp onsite, and space is available.

Feast: Dayboard is included with fee. Kitchen facilities are available if needed.

Site opens:
FRIDAY 5pm
Camping available for both nights with fire pit onsite.
Saturday night campers, dinner will be potluck. Bring a dish to share! And, after dinner, maybe there will be some bardic around the campfire.
 
Saturday:
General schedule – Gold Key (loaner garb) will be available:
9am – gate opens
12pm – dayboard (bring feast gear)
5:30pm – Shire Champions announced
 
Archery 
9am – 4pm –  all ranges open for royal rounds, 3-D woods course, and the roving range. Woods course and roving range groups will head out when marshals are available to take small groups around the courses. Loaner equipment available for those who need it.
 
5pm – How far is far arrow shoot – who can shoot their arrow the furthest and have bragging rights until next year?!
 
The archery shire champion will be determined by the highest combined scores from the ranges for the day
 
Thrown Weapons
10am to 12pm – range open
1pm to 3pm – range open
 
Thrown weapon range will be open for general throwing and royal rounds. Loaner equipment is available to those who need it.

Fencing
9am to 10am – inspections
10am to 12pm – fencing games, pick ups, and authorizations
1pm to 3pm – Shire fencing champions tournament
 
The fencing shire champion will be determined by the tournament. The format to be determined based upon the number of entrants. You must be an authorized fencer to compete.
 
Combat Archery (CA)
10am to 11am – ammo and armor inspections
11am to 12pm – non-combative combat archery target shoot
1pm to 2pm – combative combat archery shoot
The combat archery shire champion will be determined by the highest combine score of the non-combative and combative shoots. You must be authorized and fully armored to compete. CA authorizations can be arranged prior to the competition. For those who wish to try CA, you can try shooting at the static targets.
 
Heavy List
10am to 11am – inspections and authorizations
11am to 12pm – Shire heavy list champions tournament
1pm to 3pm – singles pick ups and melees (if enough combatants available)
 
The heavy list shire champion will be determined by the winner of the tournament. Format for the tournament will be determined based upon the number of entrants. You must be authorized to compete.
 
Site Closes Sunday at 12pm.

Directions

From points South

Take I-91 to Saint Johnsbury (exit 22). Turn right off the ramp and proceed down the hill to the traffic signal. Turn left onto Rt. 5 and travel north for 2 miles, then turn left onto Pierce Rd. The Caledonia Forest and Stream Club is approximately 3/4 of mile down the road on the left.

From points West

Take Rt. 2 to Saint Johnsbury, turn onto I-91 Northbound. Take exit 22 (1 exit north). Turn left onto Rt. 5 and travel north for 2 miles, then turn left onto Pierce Rd. The Caledonia Forest and Stream Club is approximately 3/4 of mile down the road on the left.

From points North

Take I-91 to exit 23 in Lyndonville. Take a right off of the ramp on to Rt. 5 southbound and travel for 3 miles, then turn left onto Pierce Rd. The Caledonia Forest and Stream Club is approximately 3/4 of mile down the road on the left.
